there are 1000 milliamps in 1 amp. If I had 560 milliamps and wanted to find how many amps that is, I would DIVIDE by 1000 (answer: 0.560 amps). If I had a number of amps and wanted to find milliamperes, I would MULTIPLY by 1000. So 0.560 amperes x 1000 would be 560 milliamperes.
